Pagan people... what do you do for Ostara?

I want to do something. We used to do things with a group of people - egg hunts, stories, playing in the woods. Now we have moved and I am not really sure what to do since we don't know anyone. What do you all do for Ostara?

Hi SuperBunny! I'm not a fully fledged practicing pagan but I do love old Celtic traditions, so this year we're going away for a few days to a nature retreat down in Leitrim, since my EDD is at the end of Aug and we prob won't get away over the summer.

If I can manage it while we're down there (damn pregnancy fatigue!), we're going to climb Queen Maeve's tomb just outside Sligo, go for lots of long walks on the beach and round the wildlife reserve, take loads of photos, have massages, bring books to read, eat veggie food and generally enjoy being surrounded by nature.

It's such a lovely, spring-like time of the year!!

If I can I'll celebrate the Spring Equinox here, Glastonbury Goddess Temple

Many of the Easter traditions that we celebrate tap into the Pagan cultures of the past so I incorporate them into the celebration of the Spring Equinox. I can feel the stirring of new life in the Air already so I've bought daffodils, and some tiny narcissi and irises to bring that life force into my home.

We'll go out to collect some twigs and branches and hang pretty coloured eggs and ribbons from them, and have an egg hunt and chocolate eggs. The DGC will make cards and other crafty things. We'll go to the allotment and carry on with planting, feeding the Earth and getting mucky!!

Best of all, if we have some sunshine we'll get out together into the landscape and enjoy all the beauty around us just as you intend to do.

I make sure I am grounded when I walk with intention or work on the Earth so that I feel that connection to the land even more strongly.

Enjoy your holiday, it sounds lovely, blessed be!

I just threw all my windows open today because it is such a lovely sunny day. I really love this time of year - so does the cat who is now deigning to go outside now that its warmer! None of the rest of my family are Pagan, so it's a bit tough, but I certainly aim to get out and about walking in the spring sunshine. I'll decorate my altar with spring flowers and have a bit of a declutter. DD loves Creme eggs, so I might do an Egg hunt for her and her friends! I'll certainly go to Glastonbury too.

All sounds lovely. I think we'll go to the forest or Cerne Abbas on Equinox weekend & get some fresh air. We've got daffodils and all our garden plants are beginning to grow so it really feels like spring.
