Will watch with interest AuraofDora, I'm a bit of a budding buddhist myself, so not a million miles away from where you are...

Hi Aura, I used to be quite a serious Tai Chi practitioner and got into reading the Tao Te Ching - these days more of a buddhist! Not many taoists around as far as I can tell. Best of luck on your journey !

Hi Aura,

I haven't done tai chi for a while, I originally had a break from it due to a knee problem (which flares up now and then - it actually first started on a Tai Chi retreat!) - the main reason at the moment is that me and Mrs C moved from London to the north and it took me a while to find a teacher - I think I have found one, so might start again, knee pending. I also have a terrible back (which Tai Chi funnily enough never really helped).

I used to do long yang - but had to change teachers twice due to moving when I was younger, so never quite finished the form! Chen looks interesting, never tried it!

chen is fantastic, its the original form that all the others were adapted from and is fast slow fighting defensive all within the same form (there are three,we get graded) and quite exhilirating to do..none your housewifes chatting a la calender girls..mil said to me (during said scene) oh that's what you do dear..

shame about your knee

hope you find a good teacher, have you thought about some chi kung breathing and body excerises to ease you back in?..
good luck with it all
