Our Parish Priest's funeral

Not to sure why I want to write this down but feel the need to share what was a very spiritual experience. Our lovely and quirky ParishPriest died very unexpectedly last week. His funeral was extremely moving and very emotional. Parish priests from all over the area attended and the Bishop conducted the service. I had goosebumps all over me when they all came in and positioned themselves around the altar and again when they left. I have been slowly coming back to the church but this has reaffirmed in some ways my faith. Just wanted to share.

Thank you for sharing that. It obviously means a lot to you and is actually quite moving.

I felt the same way when I went to a memorial service for the late Pope. It was so moving, I felt so proud to be part of my church.

I often have my most powerful affirmations of faith and belonging and certainty at funerals. It is moving..
