Ever so slightly freaked out by this. coincidence?

dh and i got married almost 14 years ago. we moved into this house 8.5 years ago, having gone through four house moves in between. yesterday, ds2 shows me a yellowing copy of a newspaper dated from our wedding day. apparently it was lining ds1's chest of drawers.
how? i know i have relined those drawers at least three times since we have moved into this house, let alone previous houses. and we didnt even get married in this country , so neither one of us was here on that day. plus, if it is something left over from previous owner of this house, then howw come it took 8.5 years for it to turn up? in such an obvious place.?
and finally, why that day? why not the day before or after, or six months before or after or any other time?

absolutely no idea. except that we have a terrible marriage, and have almost split up loads of times. the most recent being the most serious really.
ageing yellow newspaper saying this marriage is crappy and old and end it? or is beautiful and old and worth keeping? or just a coincidence and not worth thinking about.?

possibly a massive coincidence, but maybe it's also showing that after all this time, it's worth keeping the marriage?

There are so many people in the world, and so many drawers and so many newspapers, that someone, somewhere, is going to get a coincidence like this.

Sorry, I'm a miserable cynic.

The positive side of it is that, however it has come to be, it has prompted some important thoughts to rise to the surface for consideration, and that is not to be dismissed.

And yes, why do you line your drawers with newspaper? won't your smalls get all inky?
