What did Jesus do when he was 12?

DD's school has been closed for a few days, the teachers have kindly posted homework on the schools' website. One of the things dd is asked to find out, if we happen to have a bible, which we don't, is what Jesus did when he was 12. Then she has to draw a picture of him and what he's doing (She's in year 1)

I know I could ignore that bit as we don't have a bible but the goody two shoes in me feels the need to do all the set tasks

Can anyone help?

TIA

Two mins...

From memory I think he went to the temple and debated theology with all of the learned old men, who were very impressed by his knowledge. His parents didn't know where he was.

Think he went to the temple and spent time with/spoke with the elders and spiritual leaders.

He got separated from his family on a visit to the Temple and they had to go back and find him. But I can't remember which gospel you'll find it in...

He was found safe and sound talking to the teachers there...

If you had a Bible you would need Luke cgapter 2:42-52 You can look this up on Bible gateway

Jesus goes to Jerusalem for a feast - Passover I think. His parents manage to leave the temple without him. They find him 3 days later in the temple listening to and talking with the priests. When he is asked by his mother why he has caused them such worry, he says where else would I be but here on my Father's business.

Children who are the Son of God tend to be a little precocious.

Every year the parents went to Jerusalem for the festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old they went up to the Feast according to the custom. After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy stayed behind in Jerusalem but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they travelled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions
Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him they were astonished. His mother said to him: "Son,why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."
"Why were you searching for me?" he asked, "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand what he was saying to them
Luke 2:41-50
