Happy Easter

I am just back from a sunrise service at our local high point (unfortunately the sun didn't shine) followed by a fried breakfast at our local church. There were 41 out ranging in age from 4 to over 70 and it was lovely to be together to celebrate.

I have come home to have a shower to try and wake myself up before going to the morning service while my dh is sitting in front of the tv asleep!

Happy Easter one & all

Happy Easter. Have just had a great morning worship service, at which I think every single church member was present, together with several additional family members/friends/hangers on/visitors. It was packed and there was a much higher than normal proportion of children and younger adults which created quite a buzz.

Now I just have to shake off the weird feeling that has descended, now that I have discovered that my Easter joint of lamb weighs exactly 666 grammes. Not that I normally worry too much about such things ............ but I clearly remember commenting that last year's did, as well!!!!

We had a really lovely service too. The church was fairly full so probably around 450 (for the third service of the day). I was a sidesman and found it really difficult to find spaces for latecomers, and we even had to use the minstrel gallery.

We had quite a few new faces, so I hope the fullness of the church didn't put them off coming back.

Happy Easter. I have been slightly disappointed today, planned church but DD has been poorly all night/day with a high temp and sore throat.

It's fine, she too was disappointed but too feeble to complain too much! Anyway hopefully next year I will be able to take communion so will be extra special then.
