PLEASE please sign the petition, which has been signed by Amnesty and which will be taken to the UAE Embassy in London, calling for the immediate release of Marnie from prison in Dubai and for the deportation order to be lifted so that Marnie can be near her children - and encourage all those you know to sign! (It only takes a minute!!)

www.thepetitionsite.com/14/freedom-for-marnie-pearce

Marnie is currently unfairly imprisoned in Dubai on charges of adultery after being framed by her Egyptian ex-husband so that he could gain sole custody of their children, ages 4 and 7. Her ex-husband has now been awarded full custody, as under Shariah law a woman automatically loses custody of her children if she is found guilty of adultery, as she is deemed to be an unfit mother... Marnie is set to be deported from Dubai to the UK without her children after completing her sentence in a month's time and faces not seeing her boys again until they are legally able to find her at the age of 18.

The British Government has done virtually nothing to help Marnie! Please email the Foreign Secretary David Miliband and ask him to do the right thing and intervene in this situation on behalf of Marnie and her children. His email address is [email protected].

Please also see the following link to Marnie's official campaign website:

Thanks!

bl, I appreciate you want to keep highlighting this issue, but starting a thread in every section of mn is only going to end up pissing people off in the longrun.

your best bet would be to stick to a thread, perhaps the one with the most posts, and bump it, rather than starting multiple ones which are clearly not gaining any attention.

Thanks for your advice Wannabe.. I certainly wouldn't want to p*ss people off! Unfortunately I am a bit of a novice at this and haven't been entirely sure where best to post, for instance I had read that a lot of people filter out the 'Charities'.
