Hi, just wondered if any one knows a v. quick Palm Sunday / Easter Sunday ice breaker type game I could use as an introduction to a talk to a group of 12 & 13 year olds?

Whats the theme of the talk? and how many young people? and how big is the room?
Im sure I can think of something

An icebreaker? Do these young people not already know one another?

Are you actually looking for a starter activity?

mcfee · 29/03/2009 20:34

OK, more of a starter activity, ten minute talk about Palm Sunday, not much space for movement.
cheers

This is a... (If you know it, then you'll know it. I can't emplain it!!)

The invisable catching game (Have everyone stand in a circle. Have one person throw an imaginary ball of fire to someone else. That person catches it and goes "Hurgh" - noise like a weight-lifter - and the person to their left and right reach up and "support" the person between them. Then the person who caught the ball throws it to someone else and the people either side of them support them. Illiminate people who are not quick enough. When someone is illimated the person to next to them has to support the person catching the ball)

Pictionary

Chinese Laundry

True or False circle game. (Have everyone sat on a chair in a circle. Ask a question ie Who is wearing red socks. If the answer is true for a person they move two seats left. They may sit on someones lap, and then either move if the answer is true or stay still if is false. If the person on the seat needs to move and there is somone on their lap, both people move.

Not much to do with Palm Sunday, but create a tenous link if you want to.
