I was intrigued by the idea of belief in the old pantheons persisting - I hear about believers in the 12 gods of Olympus from time to time here in Greece, so I googled it, and found this site At first I thought it was a joke, but then I looked at the forum and realised they were serious! Unfortunately, it is all in Greek, so not much use if you don't speak it! Sorry! I'm still trying to find one in English. (Also, there's this news item that explains their position, but it is also in Greek.

My DS2 will be delighted - he was a devout worshipper of the Greek gods for a long time, and at one stage fashioned a shrine to Zeus in his bedroom

Hasn't he moved on to Thor now or was that pre his Zeus conversion?

Hassled · 26/03/2009 13:59

I don't think he's ever gone for the Scandinavians - although he has flirted with the Roman pantheon.

Hassled - that's great! I really laughed at having a shrine to Zeus in the bedroom! Unfortunately, on the Greek newspaper site I linked to, it says you have to be a Greek national to be a true member of the religion!

My 8-year-old DD will love that - she sacrifices sticks to Athena.
