Religious but non-Christian story books for children

As an atheist I was not that keen on DD receiving books with a religious theme for Christmas (yeah, I know, not a 'proper' atheist as we celebrate Christmas) but we now have Noah's Ark and the Christmas Story as seen through the eyes of a finger puppet sheep!

But as she has them, at least these books will be a chance for her to learn about various Christian storys.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get childrens books based around storys from other faiths? DD is still tiny, so we're into board books at the minute. Any recommendations on your favourite storys/fables/lessons?

There's plenty on Amazon; will get a few links? Know a few Buddhist / Hindu ones that should be there?

one here (good reviews and a few others linked at the bottom of the page

and here

I'd probably (without reading every link) get the one abut Rama and the Elephant headed God (Ganesha) just from knowing the tales they are based upon

if you want to look at how different faiths see the same story then here is the noah's ark story for muslim children.

www.themuslimbabyshop.com/prod.php?pc=BGW097

otherwise I have this for my son and it's quite good... www.themuslimbabyshop.com/prod.php?pc=BGW008

Neither of them are board books but they are fine for reading with parents - my son is only 12months.

there are lots of other muslim children's books here www.islamicgoodsdirect.co.uk/index.php/cPath/93_157_69/sort/3a/page/1

This one www.themuslimbabyshop.com/prod.php?pc=BGW125 and this one www.themuslimbabyshop.com/prod.php?pc=BGW178 are pretty classic islamic stories that are more specific to islam rather than other christianity or judaism (a lot of the history is shared as you are probably aware).

Wow, thanks, they look great.

Would anyone else like to recommend books to represent faiths not already mentioned?
