Chruch Wardens/vergers/ - would you be offended if I asked you this before a service?

"Do you think it is going to be a good turn out?"

I have been pondering this - over christmas we attended a local carol service and I know the church warden very well. They had extra chairs out so I asked the above question

My sister was horrified and told me off for being rude.

I really didn't think it was rude - but would really hate to have offended the warden.

what do you think?

well I'm neither a church warden or a verger, but I am very good friends with our church warden. And I can safely say that if you asked that question at the carol service you certianly wouldn' thave offended her, she'd probably have replied "yes - as we're expecting all the parents of the children who are singing in the school choirs" (we invited the 2 attatched schools to bring hteir choir to sing an item during the servive

ahhh but you're a vicar rev - and I'm pretty sure if you said the same thing to our vicar she wouldn't be offended either........

or if it was Evensong you may get "I doubt it" HEHE
