hiya, does anybody know about a barn/farm carol service in/around Wells/Somerset (with the animals around you while you're sitting on your hay )including a nativity play on Christmas Eve. We're going there to be with the grandparents but are not local - there's something like this near home and we are really keen to go but we need to leave several days earlier. Roughly 40 miles max away from Wells would do. Anybody? Thanks for your help!

Nope. Sorry. But Wells Catheral is pretty spectacular. I'll keep an ear out for a barn service for you.

That would be great, thanks! My mum-in-law is, too, but I fear she might lack the right "contacts" to hear about it (I only found out about our barn service after living here for about 2 and a half years!)

I'm afraid I don't know of any, but Wells cathedral do a fantastic family carol service. My husband used to work there and it was always wonderful.

if all things fail: what's the cathedral like? very formal? can the kids run around without disapproving looks? pompous or down to earth? any nativity (prepared or join in?)? how long is it and what time?
