I havnt been to my local church for quite a few months as things have been manic since having dd. But I intend to start going again regually in the next few weeks and over christmas as it is an important time in the calender.
I know the church collects money for charities with the chirstmas collection and although I have not been to church in some time have a charity I would like to suggest.

There is a charity helping children on the streets of Nigeria who have been accused of being witches by the pastor of their church. Their treatment is horrific and they are subjected to physical and mental abuse and have been abandoned by their families and attacked by member of their local community.

Babys as young as a few months old are being abandoned and tourtured because of accusations of witch craft. Anyways what I wanted to say was do you think the church would be offended by me suggesting this as I havnt been in about 6 months? I just think it is a very worth while cause and would like to be able to help in some way.

I can't see any reason why the church will be offended. They might not act on your idea - in fact, they may already have agreed where their contributions will be going - I know our church has. If you have a leaflet on the charity it would help as it will give them something to read - particularly useful if it is a committee/PCC which decides (PCC = parochial church council, who make decisions on behalf of the church)

You can propose this cause by writing to/chatting with the person on the PCC responsible for overseas missions.
