Prayer for the American elections and leaders.

I don't really mind who wins, but I do know they'll need an awful lot of wisdom. One thing that comes through loud and clear from both republicans, democrats and un-decideds, both US citizens and not, is lots of fearful comments. Fear has it's place, but it rarely makes people behave with thoughtful rationality.

For those of a praying bent, be they monotheists, pantheists, or just those that believe in thoughts and desires having some effect on the world around us, I thought it might be nice to maybe have a thread sending the Americans good thoughts, whatever your political views. Obama, McCain or McKinney (Hey, it could happen!) will need shedloads of wisdom, courage, and all that stuff.

Many of us are rooting for an Obama win, but I don't mean this to be a partisan argument Kay watches thread sink like a stone I just wanted to do something positive in what can be such an embittered, fearful time. Have at it, should you wish to.

I do mind who wins, but I'm sharing your sentiment in hoping that wisdom, and a genuine will to seek peace and stability shines through.

In all honesty, as I'm not American, and therefore cannot affect the vote one way or another, I try not to get too partisan one way or the other I have friends that will vote R, D and third party.

All I can do is pray and hope for a good future. America influences so much, for good and ill. Peace and stability is a very good thought.

It matters. Really it matters.

But hope peace prevails

Wisdom needed for those voting, too, it occured to me this morning. It's quite an enormous responsibility.

you minx, you. Look, I don't mind, seriously. There's already a thread praying for him specifically and that's great. But you know what, there's always the possibility that he might not win, and praying people will still need to pray, iyswim.

praying for safety for all those involved, and that passions don't get out of hand from any quarter.
