Inner RAGE

Anyone experienced this ?

Just reading about Biden and how he discovered an inner rage he did not know he possessed after his wife and baby daughter were killed in a car accident.

I have also experienced a horrible and all consuming rage when as an adult confronting wrongs that were done to me as a teen

It was all consuming and almost uncontrollable, burning desire to crash cars into walls - hurt self or others.....

Luckily mine passed but the sense of having been 'wronged' created a time bomb of rage
Anyone relate to this?

"I have also experienced a horrible and all consuming rage when as an adult confronting wrongs that were done to me as a teen"

This sentence, NotAnOtter, is me.

I think that inner rage describes it perfectly, it is not a slow burning anger but a red-mist kind of rage that springs up at the most mundane or stupidist of things. I think that when mine occurs it is related to what I went through as a teen i.e. having to put my feelings aside to consistently look after someone else (not talking dcs here), or always having to do the housework - which I had to do as a teen as my mentally ill mother was unable to cope.

It has been a long hard battle to work through it though, and my lovely dh has stood by me even in the hardest of times, for which I am grateful.

I am also using other practices, such as meditation and yoga to help head off the rage and de-stress.

So basically yes, I can relate to this!

oh yes

aftermath of mental abuse? check
traumatic bereavement no.1, aged 14? check
traumatic bereavement no.2, aged 31? check

I'm chock full of the stuff.

thankyou both

Nina i find your words cathartic!

Cyteen ! does it help to know others feel the same?

I was thinking about this today and wondering whether it is a feeling of the 'injustice' that winds me to the point of volcanic eruption.......
