Quote for baptism invitations

Our son is being baptized (R.C.) in 2 months' time and I am doing up the invitations.

I would like to put a short, preferably biblical, quote at the bottom of the invitation that reflects the occasion, without being too preachy.

Do any of you have any recommendations?

what about the 'suffer little children to come unto me'( or something like that)

Now I always thought that meant something along the lines of 'let them die peacefully in the knowledge that they'll go to God'

With soap, baptism is a good thing.

How about John 4:14; 'whoever drinks of the water that I give shall never thirst; the water that I shall give will become in him/her a spring of water welling up to eternal life' (or just the second half)? This is my favourite passage to preach on when I do a baptism!

no twigg! didn't think it had anything to do with dying.isn't the bible story that jesus was giving one of his talks and the disciples wouldn't let the children come and bother him, and he saw what was going and on and said ' suffer the children to come unto me'. something for the people who don't allow kids at their church weddings to remember?

How about a quote from the ceremony:

At my parents church, the one I attended as a child, after the babies were christened the mum and dad holding the baby turned around to face the congregation and they sang the blessing above. It was the Church's way of welcoming the babe into the church

At dd2's baptism, our priest preached about how we were giving her the name by which God will know her. Bearing this in mind, how about 'I have called you by name, you are mine.' (Isaiah 43:1)
