Why would a little boy wear a turban when his parents are very westernised and his Dad does not?

My 6 year old ds asked me this and I couldn't answer.

Does anyone know why?

Maybe they want to bring him up as religious and let him make his own decisions when he is old enough. Pressure from grandparents? Could be any number of reasons.

Just seems a bit odd to me taht the sojn wears one and Dad doesn't.

Mind you, his Dad is a builder and my ds said he wouldn't be able to wear a hard hat if he had a turban on

coz he wants to?

DS went through a phase of wearing pants on his head. It was no reflection on me.

Perhaps it's the mother's religion but not the father's
