Is this a kind of religion thing? - A silver platter and a couple of interesting statues.

Just out of sheer nosiness curiosity really. My lecturer at uni has on his desk a couple of statues - couldn't see what they were but they were a dusky pink colour about 4 inches tall and in front of them a silver ornate plate/platter of some kind that seemed to be covered in cling film.

Is this from some religion does anyone know?

Could he be a Hindu? Sounds like a puja tray to me, but I am by no means an expert!

Is there a small hand bell there too? If so, definitely puja tray!

no knick knacks with it, just an ornate oblong tay about 8 inches long and 4 inches wide with lots of detail on it. It might be a puja tray, have googled it, but doesn't look like any of the images. He has a grade 2 hair cut too, he doesn't cover his head or anything.

Does that sound similar to anyone?
