Summed up perfectly. In 10 words.

The world may be complex but it doesn’t mean your consciousness exists after your body dies. Your brain is who you are. Once brain activity stops that’s it. This bollocks about the soul is from before people understood much about the body. It would be nice if it were true though.

Actually scientists haven't figured out consciousness at all. Think about when we sleep or are in a coma or why humans is different from animals.And science changes all the time.
Amongst scientists mathematicians and cosmologists are the greater percentage of religious believers as they see how incredibly complex the universe is and would collapse if the measures were just a tiny bit off.
And it's interesting that all around the world, the various peoples have religions. Atheism isn't natural rather it's a product of highly developed societies.

I came on to say that this is a question that Stephen Colbert used to ask in his 15 question “Colbert Questionnaire”, so that his guests would be “known”…and which started as a result of that clip (as my response was before opening big the link).

He asked a lot of celebrities, before his show was cancelled recently.

The questions also include “what is the best sandwich?”, “window or aisle”, “apples or oranges “ and “have YOU (always a famous guest) ever asked anyone for their autograph?”

We cease to exist, but the atoms we are made from don't disappear. When I look at the trees whilst walking the dog I often wonder where all the atoms in them have come from.
