Dreams literally coming true.. psychic?

I know this may sound a little crazy, but bear with me.

I recently went somewhere and as soon as I walked in, I recognised it. I had a dream about this place a few weeks ago, more than once.

I definitely have not been to this place before, but it was exactly as it was in the dream.

Has this happened to anyone else? It is really freaking me out to be honest, and I don't feel I can talk to RL people as they will think I am crazy.

it's just a coincedence. You're reading too much into it.

lottyloon · 19/06/2008 23:11

was it definitely somewhere you hadnt been before?

i do believe in this sort of thing but sometimes (apparently) it can be just a thing of your brain catching up...

next time you dream vividly about somewhere, write it down and tell someone else then you will know if it is really something you have just dreamt before.

beansmum · 19/06/2008 23:12

Brains are weird, you probably didn't actually dream it, you just created that memory somehow, like really detailed deja vu.

DirtySexyMummy · 19/06/2008 23:29

Oh no, I definitely dreamt it. In fact, it was a really odd dream and I actually told one of my friends about it at the time, and remember because I had another dream about the place a few nights later.

I definitely had not been there before.

deja vous

cornsilk · 19/06/2008 23:32

maybe you are in the matrix

DirtySexyMummy · 19/06/2008 23:32

Well, its not really deja vu though, as I had the dream.

I get deja vu a lot, but I am sure many people do. Never really think much of it. This however, was really odd.

what was the place?

nancy75 · 19/06/2008 23:35

not quite the same but years ago i worked with a woman and kept dreaming she was pregnant, every night for about 2 weeks, would go into work and mention it in a joking are you sure you're not kind of way and guess what - she was pregnant and i knew it before she did!
i dont believe in psychic stuff but it did freak me out.

nancy75 · 19/06/2008 23:35

was it a place you might have seen a photo of or that somebody had told you about before you went there?

sherby · 19/06/2008 23:36

DSM, I get deja vu very strongly too, never had the dream thing though, but sometimes the deja vu goes on for minutes at a time, very freaky

Let us know if you dream the lotto numbers won't you

DirtySexyMummy · 19/06/2008 23:43

No, the place was a small hotel in a very small town in a different country, to which I, nor anyone I know of, has ever been. I had never even heard of the town.

My dream involved me walking round the hotel as well, into all different parts of it. It was all identical to the hotel.

I also had a dream about a bar, and whilst en route to this very small town, drove past a bar that looked exactly like it, though I was on a bus and could not go in to check inside.

It was really freaky..

I also get that Sherby - deja vu lasting for minutes. Its weird, but I do think that is just something to do with a momentary slowing of the brain, so the eyes send the pictures slightly faster than the brain registers them, so you think you have seen it before. This seems to make sense to me.

It's happened to me a few times. Really scares me sometimes.

Albert · 20/06/2008 00:21

It happened to me several times when I was younger but hasn't happened in years. I just thought, well, that was wierd, not much I can do about it, never freaked me or anything.

allgonebellyup · 20/06/2008 10:18

i do get this occasionally too, but am never sure whether it is deja vu or not.

i try not to read too much into dreams predicting things - usually it is what is playing on your mind, this is what is happening to me at the mo - i keep dreaming i am marrying my ex and choosing wonderful wedding dresses etc, and having his baby! as i cant have him back it makes me want him even more!

Sorry, all this has nothing to do with your dream!
