Just moving to Shropshire - anyone know of any good churches with good children's programmes within 30 mins of north shrops? Also, have been in a bit of a desert time for a while and am not where I was, IFSWIM, anyone got any good books to recommend which would inspire me?

Can't recommend a church, but Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert is quite a very good read when you're a bit up in the air and not sure where you're going to land...

It's just a novel though, not a self-help book, not sure if that's what you want.

thank you - I will go to Amazon!

Assuming you're speaking of a Christian desert, Wasteland is a good book (comes from a C o E / Evangelical standpoint if that helps at all)

thank you - yes, it is a spiritual desert

Shropshire? What do you mean you're going to Shropshire!!

Oh, and I'll send you a book we've just read called Captivating - a bit touchy-feely but very thought-provoking.

Not till 2009, love, but planning ahead! When this tour is over, we're trying the real world for a while - a bit sick of patch politics etc etc.

Good luck! Someone on another FS thread is wanting info about Herford. Thought you might be the person to ask...

www.mdmc.org.uk/ Link may not work, but is definitely a good, lively sort of church with lots of young families, kids etc. Website seems to be partly under construction at the moment.

Thank you - the link does work and I will go and have a look at it.
