Any druids here? Drawn to the path.

After searching for a spiritual home for many years, I am feeling increasingly drawn to Druidry. Has anyone completed the OBOD training? Any thoughts or recommendations to help me on my way?

I haven't completed the whole of OBOD traing but went through the whole of Bard and Ovate, taking several years. I also belonged to a couple of groups affiliated to OBOD in the past. There's an intro pack so you could get that first, if you want to get a feel for their approach. Feel free to message me if you have specific questions. Or you may possibly find more on the Pagan/Wiccan long-running thread?

I gave up on OBOD after 3 months - absolutely hated it. I am however an initiate of one of the other UK druidic orders. They lost me when they assumed that you either owned a piece of woodland or knew someone that did! I would hope that it is now more accessible!

Thank you @Webbedlife and @TheWytch . I’ve signed up for the course - will give it a go (although I definitely don’t own any woodland) fingers crossed I will get closer to what I’m looking for.

I would have done the OBOD course if I could have afforded it. I hope you enjoy it. Please report back /|\

@Jasmin71 Apparently the Isle of Wight Order of Druids offer free courses, which like OBOD are divided into 3 grades. Might be worth a look. I haven't tried them personally. There's also free learning resources on the Druid Network site to some extent.

On the subject of land I only have a small back garden...

I have a number of friends doing the Isle of Wight course. They have enjoyed it very much. No land required!

AutumnBeast · 19/09/2025 08:53

Sounds great! (As long as you don’t need a boat to get to the Isle of Wight 🤣 - because I haven’t got one of those either!) I’ll let you know how I get on with OBOD in the meantime @Jasmin71

Not a Druid per se, but as a pagan, I do find it interesting, and am keen on Celtic (Irish/Welsh, mainly) pagan practices in general.

I’ve recently started the OBOD training. I don’t own a woodland (wish I did), but luckily I live in the Lake District so I have access to quite a few!

How are you finding it? @OneFootintheHedgehog (love the user name!!)
