Has anyone been to Walsingham?

I would love to go. Can I just turn up and attend a service etc? I know a lot of people go in an organised pilgrimage group but I'd just be on my own.

I'm not a confirmed Catholic- am just starting out.

If you've been, was it very busy? (I'm hoping the answer is yes so I can just sit at the back and blend in.)

Hi, I’ve been. Took the light railway, had a walk around, went to the shrine. It wasn’t overly busy but it was a few years ago, so post Covid. Didn’t go to a service as there wasn’t one on but you are free to walk about, well I did anyway. Very special place.

Been many times. The Anglican shrine is much nicer than the RC one. But it’s a lovely walk between the two down the Holy Mile. Is a nice village. But I must admit it does nothing for me spiritually, I prefer Lourdes.

The RC Shri e has a daily public mass at 12 I believe. No idea about the other side!
