Saw a big group of these people in my local city centre yesterday and I was intrigued. I can't remember the last time I saw such a huge religious gathering but more than that - they were all kids/young people.

I spotted them as religious straight away but my teen didn't. They were dressed in matching t shirts that talked about perfect love and were dancing and singing. To her they looked like a theatre group or choir. It felt like that was deliberate.

Anyway, anyone had any experience of them or know about? This is purely nosy by the way, I'm a confirmed atheist. Just being honest about my intentions as people may not wish to answer on that basis.

This is tricky for me, as a Christian. In theory I think they are great. In practice I suspect there will be a few charismatic people at the top and over time an abuse of power. Because that’s how it always seems to go.

There’s a lot to be said for the rather staid, unexciting CofE parish church.

They appear to be of the NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) flavour of Christianity, one that I don't support personally, as a more traditional Christian myself. There's plenty online about NAR if you want to look into it further. As the PP said, there's a lot to be said for the 'unexciting' form of Christianity!

Thanks both. I appreciate your replies and will have a look at NAR. It made me uncomfortable but I'm not sure if that's just my own prejudices or just the fact I really don't like any religion where they try and approach people to 'save/convert' them. They were approaching young people but not if they had adults with them.
