Has anyone got any experience of how you go about this or what it involves? I'm a catholic married to a C of E, would like to get our marriage recognised by catholic church (had a registry office service), but scared of what priest would say, how much it may cost, don't want to make hubby panic be scared of what may be required of him!

I've done it! Married a heathen in registry office, had 2dcs, waited years before plucking up courage to speak to priest. I'd moved so priest didn't know that I wasn't married in church and was quite shocked when I told him. I had to give marriage, baptism, conformation certificates for me to the parish priest who sent everything to the bishop to get permission to marry outside the faith. This took about 2 weeks. Then just booked date with priest. We needed 2 witnesses but we got married right after morning mass and 2 of the sisters did it. Priest did ask my dh a couple of questions and asked if he agreed that dcs would be brought up as Catholics but nothing too intense. Its technically a free service but donations appreciated as with normal weddings.

I really didn't want to tell my priest and it took me ages to do it but I'm so glad I did. I feel married now.

As long as neither of you have been divorced then its fine to go and get a blessing.
