morning

ZipadiSuzy · 19/05/2008 09:00

Ooh I went to church yesterday, 1st time this year was family service, but as usual stuck at back entertaining the twins so I may as well have been at home. Oh well! twins seemed to enjoy it! nice to see old church friends though!

We made doves and wrote a prayer on the back and hung up in church,(dd's prayer was to help daddy with his trailer and pick worms)

Plus wrote name on a brick (bit of wallpaper) and built wall of them with prayer on back, I presume something to do with TRINITY didn't hear service!

ZipadiSuzy · 19/05/2008 09:02

Prayers for all doing GCSE's {{{{{not envious emotion}}}}}

Notquitegrownup · 19/05/2008 09:42

Good morning all.

Glad the sermon went well Mary. Would love to read a copy if you have one to email out.

Glad that you made it to church Sooz. I was in that same position until recently, of not hearing a word in church and it all being v. stressful for me - and I don't have twins. (I particularly remember the phase when the organ striking up got ds2 so excited, he had to rip his clothes off! Every time!)

It does change. DS2, now nearly 5, can now whisper and crayon through most of a family service. I think that it's worth going occasionally in those early days, so that your little ones know their way around church, but don't beat yourself up if you can't face it more often.

Continuing to pray for all on this thread, especially IWNLTBM, Steve and OJ, and your friend Mosschops.

God bless all.

CaptainDippy · 19/05/2008 09:54

Glad you got to church Sooz I am sure that lots of us on here know exactly what it feels like to think "I don't know why I bothered, I just spent the whole service entertaining the DCs"; but you went and you saw nice church people Well Done you .... it will get easier ... for you .... for us all!!

Hi NQGU ROFL @ DS2's phase of ripping his clothes off when the organ struck up May I ask why!!!?

Still feeling a bit fragile and weepy atm, not nice. DH and I had big argument last night Life is tough atm.

podglet · 19/05/2008 11:01

Oh Darling Dippy, I'm sorry to hear that. Email me if you want or I am on FB (I am one of Rosey's friends if you want to find me that way).

I too am a bit weepy and wobbly today, think last weeks events have caught up with me. HV calling later to check on me so will chat to her.

Mosschops, Oj & Steve and IWNLTBM, continued prayers for you.

As for church, I haven't been since we moved last September I can't get to the church I used to attend and haven't plucked up the courage to try the local one here. I have promised myself that I will take DD next Sunday though to try it out before I take both DC's. DS loved our old church as the vicar was wonderful with him and used to steal him to cuddle during her sermons

Notquitegrownup · 19/05/2008 11:04

Hi CD Prayers and {{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}.

The clothes thing was a phase he went through (seems to be a local thing. The other little boys in his class did it too!) When excited he tended to remove clothing - preferably trousers - and wave his bottom around The more excited he was, the more clothes needed to come off - and the organ on full blast got him really excited!!

Notquitegrownup · 19/05/2008 11:08

Awww - what a lovely vicar Podglet. It can take ages to find and settle into a new church, I know.

Prayers and hugs for you too. It is not surprising that you are having a wobbly day. You went through so much last week and were so strong. The shock is bound to surface at some time - and good that it does too, as long as you have some support around you, to help you deal with it. Your hv seems to be a real star - great timing that she is calling today - and we are all here for you too.

CaptainDippy · 19/05/2008 11:16

Hi Podglet and NQGU - you are such lovely ladies - nice to have you both around right now, thank you!

Don't be podglet, but your old church sounds lovely such a shame you can't go back. I think it would be great to pluck up the courage to attend something ... everyone loves babies!! How are you doing anyway sweetheart?

I can find Rosey or podglet on FB Can you find me!!? Email me if you need more details: captain_dippy "at" yahoo "dot" co "dot" uk

My DD2 removes clothing when she is in rage (form of protest, I think); but no when she is excited!!

I've just seen pics of my new baby niece ..... awwwwwwwwww......

DutchOma · 19/05/2008 16:38

Can I please put on another request for my friend's daughter Alison. She works for Tearfund and next week is being sent to Burma to see what can be achieved there. She wil be there for a week.
She will have to leave her little son at home with his Dad and paternal grandmother who is very possessive.
Pray that:
Her visit is productive for the people of Burma;
that she is safe and healthy while she is there
that all her preparations go smoothly.
that her little son will not miss her too much

I just want to share something amazing and extremely timely that happened to me today ...... some lovely wonderful people I know send us a cheque for a generous sum of money, which I duly paid into one of the banks we have an overdraft with to try and make some sort of dent in it Well, the bank called DH today and told them that because of the cheque they had cleared the whole debt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am still in shock ......

Isn't God incredible!!!!!!!!?????????

Evening Ladies,

Sorry to come on here and just ask for prayer. I have a sense of deja vu. MIL has asked if she can come and visit this weekend as she has the long weekend off. It is DD's birthday on 27th so that is why she wants to visit. But, it isn't that long since she last visited and just announced that she was coming even though it was DH's only weekend off that month (he works all week as well so that meant it was his only two days off for a whole month). She wound me up enough with that visit and now she wants to come again. We have been invited to a barbeque on the sunday and are having my family over on the monday. We have both taken the tuesday off (DD's birthday) and wanted to not do anything more than these plans as it was meant to be a relaxing family time. On friday 29th, DH is going away for 16 days and he has worked for the last two weekends. I am not in the mood to entertain his mother. I feel terrible saying no she isn't invited when my family are coming over on the monday, but, I can't expect her to drive down from Derby to Southampton just for a few hours on the monday. I feel in an even less Christian mood about her potential visit this time than I did last time. I don't think it helps that things are very up and down with DH. I'd really appreciate your prayers for continued healing in our relationship.

Notquitegrownup · 19/05/2008 20:09

Ladies - Paperchain needs your prayers this evening, lots.

notsofarnow · 19/05/2008 20:23

cd tht is fantastic news - I never knew banks did such a thing.

Please keep praying for that lady looks like she's coming in for T.O.P. over the w/e and it breaks my heart. Her social circumstances are less than ideal - she has dh but is in another relationship, she going to stay at a friends but can only stay till baby is born, so dont even know if her friend knows of her plans for w/e sorry am rambling but having seen that gorgeous baby boy on scan i just want to protect it against all odds and I can't. Its bad enough having women in with terminations at 5,6,7,8 wks but 18 its heart breaking

dd's exams seem to be going ok so prayers must be working

please pray for another situation and tht is a relationship between dd, me and another person at church who keeps mocking the fact tht her knee is bad again, says things like its always the same thing with you isn't it. Or when someone asked her in a service last week if she wanted to be prayed for with no prior warning and frightened her to death in front of a full church all this guy could say behind her was 'oh my God' as if why is he asking her when there's nothing wrong with her. Its doing her and my head in this person has a finger in every pie and is so traditional he would have us back in bonnets and he's only in his early 20's

notsofarnow · 19/05/2008 20:24

oh and as for facebook i'm on it cd will see if i can find your email address and email you.

CaptainDippy · 19/05/2008 20:39

That's just it, NSFN, they don't!! God does though

18 weeks That precious baby boy Praying for a miracle.

@ situation in your church too. So unloving and unkind What a fallen world we live in.

Praying for paperchain tonight. Hold her, Lord.

Praying for difficult situation's resolution, SS - would tell her no tbh. Straight, to the point and simply. No.
