Gentle, restorative meditation retreats

I'm currently being treated for cancer, have three months more chemo, then surgery, radiotherapy and some ongoing treatments after that.

To keep myself looking forward, and not ending up in a slough of despond, I've started to think about recuperation after active treatment - not just physical (have lost weight and muscle so I need work!) but also emotional and spiritual.

I would describe myself as an agnostic, raised CofE. I like meditation, and was wondering about finding some sort of meditation short break, somewhere pretty in the south east. I've been googling but finding a lot which have more yoga than meditating. Physically I'm not going to be in a great way, and have a plan for getting fitness back. I need my soul to be soothed!

Sorry, that was long, but am hopeful someone here might have some ideas.

Thank you 🙏 in advance

Thank you. That does sound lovely, and I would travel a bit further for the right thing. The only thing that gives me pause is the 'tasks' listed on the schedule. I don't know what this means? Washing up? Cooking? ??I'm going to be exhausted, and I really want to be looked after, (I'm aware that makes me sound like a princess 🤣)

From when I did Sharpham, the tasks were very low key - there was a rota which meant approx once in the week, you were on chopping up veg duty in the kitchen for about 30 mins (with 2 other people on the retreat), and approx once you were on washing up duty (about 45 mins). I don't think there were any other tasks to be shared out.

The food is absolutely delicious and a lot of it is grown on the estate. Also highly recommend paying the extra for a "heritage" bedroom, they are huge and beautiful !
