I've joined Unitarians. It's been 7 months. I was invited along and I wanted some time to think so I went.
I expected it to be like church and I'm a regular at any carol service but don't do the rest of the year. This was not about one God. No bible stories on the day.
We discussed farming and growing plants and had some poetry, hymns too but not ones I knew.
Unitarians is all faiths and more about finding your own inner peace.
Its also a small community. I like the way it's done. They enjoy labyrinth walks too. A maze has walls, a labyrinth can be in the local park or there's a room size carpet here to walk round.
Anyway if you fancy a relaxing hour taking time out for yourself do look for unitarians.

Like loads of folk of all faiths or none, I love a good old Carol Service too. I think there's a thread on here about people's favourite Carols.

I guess if "you fancy a relaxing hour taking time out for yourself", there are a million and one ways to do so. I love having a cuppa and watching guilty-pleasure trash TV, or going for a bath with a nice G & T, or reading a book ... I agree though, if somebody is looking for 'truth and meaning' about the Lord God Almighty and Christ Jesus, Unitarianism is not it. It's also not the only way to discuss farming (love a bit of Countryfile), plant growing (my Hollyhocks failed to appear this year), or to enjoy a bit of poetry and singing, or to go looking for a bit of inner peace.

I enjoyed reading Kate Mosse's Labyrinth. There is currently a labyrinth laid out in Tewkesbury Abbey, if anyone is in the area an interested.
