Arguments for/against young earth creationism

Anyone here believe in young earth creationism? What are the arguments for and against?

(I'm a Christian and genuinely interested, please don't turn this into an atheist dominated fight opportunity. I'd like mutually respectful discussion) 😊

I think it's nonsense, yet I go to church with people who think the world is only 6000 years old. The LDS church lets people make up their own minds about it. I think it's quite disrespectful to God actually, the world had to be ready for us to live on it, and evolution paved the way for humans to be able to. Also as we believe in pre-Earth life, I find the idea that my soul is billions of years old fascinating. I don't see the Old Testament as fact, there's an awful lot of myths in there.

The LDS church is not known for sensible beliefs, there have been some extremely dubious ones

I watched a documentary on netflix - is Genesis History? It makes some interesting points and is worth a look for anyone who is interested in the topic.
