why do you think it’s hard to be orthodox in Russia?

@ThursdayTomorrow I did not know that either. "Navalny often quoted verses from Jesus's Sermon on the Mount, in particular 'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied' (Matthew 5:6). 'I've always thought that this particular commandment is more or less an instruction to activity', Navalny commented."

I'm sure Alexei will Navalny will hear "Well done, you good and faithful servant" as he meets his Lord.

Interesting to hear people’s views. I thought Russian Orthodox Church was more of a state controlled thing with restrictions on what can be preached. I admit I know little about it.

He was obviously a brave man but "it can't be easy being a Christian in Russia"? Seriously? He was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church. It's much harder to be a non-Christian in Russia.
