If you consider yourself 'born again,' did you have a sudden, miraculous change in your behaviour and personality etc?

For instance Revealing Truth on Youtube describes that he woke up and he could no longer get a swear word to come out of his mouth.

Did you suddenly and miraculously change?

I don't go to confession as much as I should but now it's lent I need to go. Thanks for reminding me.

Confession isn't really about accountability but a sacrament of healing and reconciliation. Over time I have shifted my behaviour but often revert to shouty mum taking the Lords name in vain again. I think I am better than I was before I took faith seriously. I definitely struggle with some demons less.

I've heard it said that just like you don't go to hospital expecting to find all well people, don't go to church expecting everyone to be perfect. I think Christians mainly realise we all need God's help.

Yep I mean I got into Protestantism, so I'm more looking at the usefulness of confession with a small 'c' I guess.

I never got to the end of a week without doing something which (I felt) meant I could not take Communion without going to Confession first.

Mainly swearing, detraction, bog standard sexual stuff.

It wasn't a sudden conversion, more a slow progression. It's definitely something I've had to consciously work at, rather than it just happening. The Freedom in Christ course helped. It also helped me realise that I was making progress. For example, when I first took the step to forgive, it was a definite "fake it till you make it" scenario: I know I have to forgive this person for what they did to me. It's really hard, but I'm going to make a conscious effort to forgive them. May God give me the grace to succeed". A few years later, when I was co-leading the course, I realised I had truly forgiven them - and others in the meantime.

Like @cheapskatemum it wasn't a sudden change but since renewing my faith I feel - and hope ! - that I have become a kinder person.
I try to always remember to think "What would Jesus do ? " before wading into a situation.
