Where can I find good pop-philosophy books or articles on identity and selfhood?

Can any philosophers on here recommend some very accessible but well-researched books on identity and selfhood?

I read the Very Short Introduction to Identity and found it quite flat and dry.

I want something that makes me think and question - the way a good bit of Aristotle can, when translated into modern English.

But I just don't find it easy to read primary texts by most philosophers (except Aristotle, who seems very clear) and need something already digested but a bit lively.

Does a book like this exist? Or a website?

@Mysticguru - thank you so much for those recommendations. I will look them up.

Please does anyone else have suggestions?
