medium at the church......

Could someone explain what this means/what they do? I have been internet dating and a guy i have been speaking to is quite spiritual and his dad is a medium. Was just hoping to get a little insight into this before we meet!

I know there are "spiritualist churches" - (most churches wouldn't have a medium in them), so it may be he's involved with one of those?

Yes, a God fearing church would not have a meduim in them as it is forbidden to talk to the dead in the Bible...its called Necromancy.

When king saul used a medium to talk to a dead samuel he was allowed to go mad by God as a punishment.

A medium is someone who channels messages from the spirit world. He probably goes to a spiritualist church. They have mediums who run the service and have people going on the "platform" to give messages for those in the congregation.

My MIL is a platform medium and it was she and my FIL who sparked my interest in spiritualism as they were just so matter of fact about what they believed. They didn't ever push it down my throat, but answered questions and gently encouraged me with my own abilities.

Their church is lovely and has an amazing atmosphere whenever I'm in there. The people involved with the church are all really lovely too. I love going there.

Yes surfermum is right, they would deliver messages from thr spirit world to the living.

would also point out that if a spirit doesn't want to tlak to you, eg aunty mabel regarding buried treasure, then she will not talk!!!

not all mediums go to a church tho.
