Bible in a year (or less!)

Hi everyone

I've tried to follow the bible in a year app 3 or 4 times but never managed to stick with it beyond a few months. I'd really love 2024 to be the year I finally read the bible all the way through and wondering whether I try the app again - and somehow persist - or whether I should just accept that method doesn't work for me and follow a different plan.

Any advice from those who've successfully read their way through the bible would be greatly appreciated 😊

Thank you!

I'm finding it easier this year, maybe as I did complete the catechism in a year last year, so have a better rhythm for it. I have missed a day or two here and there but easily caught up.

I read the whole Bible (Catholic, 72 books) from start to finish in about six to seven weeks earlier this year. Read it out loud mostly (I live with 2 cats, so there was no-one to annoy) with leeway to read by eye if it was very repetitive descriptions of the tent or the temple, or land allocations between the tribes. I'm re-reading the Gospels for Lent, (in a parallel arrangement that lines them up chronologically) and intend to proceeed to Acts and the epistles before cycling back to the prophets later in the year.
