well it's not urgent in any real sense of the word

but I am going to a Quaker prayer thing for some friends in nearly an hour

and I don't know what they do or if there is anything I should know

I just rang up because I will have to pick up dd2 from nursery and didn't know how long it would last and they said oh no matter, it's not very formal

I am high church C of E. I understand formal

informality leaves me floundering a bit

please reassure me I don't come across like frowning po-faced old Anglican

It will be fine. Everyone will be quiet, and then someone might say something, and then it will go quiet again, and maybe a few more people will speak. No pressure on anyone.
If you need to leave, just slip out - if anyone even notices they will just assume you needed to go for whatever reason.

(Am not a Quaker but my mother attended Quaker meeting for years when I was growing up so we used to go to Children's Meeting and other things there.)

How was it Cappuccino ?

Am considering going to a Quaker meeting soon.

it was actually lovely

it started late so, because I had said I had to leave early, they let me go up to the prayer room early to have some quiet time to pray and then I just slipped out
