Thread for those open to exploring ideas

Just that really. I know I'm questioning a lot of things about my beliefs and am open to learning more about different belief systems.

For me, it started with several major life changes (having kids, moving house) and learning to come to terms with things that have happened in the past.

I'm exploring lots of different ideas in a way I haven't felt able to before and really excited to see what I might discover about myself, others and the wider world

Anyone else feel the same? All welcome here

Hi, I’m glad you have started this thread - most people who are spiritual are very open to exploring ideas, What sort of ideas are you drawn to so far? Do you have any deep feeling about anything? Are you drawn to any particular cultures or periods in history?

In my time I’ve worked through Christianity, both mainstream and more escoteric, Egyptian mythology, various mystic branches of religion, hermeticism, astrology, spiritual alchemy, Rosicrucianism, shamanism snd much more. I have an active spiritual practice revolving round ceremonial
magic. I have an eclectic belief system I’m not drawn to eastern spirituality though.

I rejected my ethnic religion at 9 when a clergyman said my sister's illness was god's punishment.
I've practiced witchcraft, have a preliminary ordination in an esoteric Buddhist sect - so lots of experience in meditation and magical practices. I'm a pagan priestess now and combine that with my love of witchy things; especially many forms of divination.

What types of divination do you practice if you don’t mind me asking. Are there any that work better for you?

I use astragali, oracle bones, and am learning Hellenistic astrology which is quite different from modern astrology. I also practice ornithomancy (divination by birds) and interpret omens. Also bibliomancy using Homer. Hmm cheiromancy; reading palms
How about you?

Wow that’s a wide range, - some of which I’ve never heard of. I tend to use tarot (mainly tarot de Marseilles)astrology and geomancy plus scrying.

whats the difference with Hellenistic astrology?

QueenHippolyta · 24/05/2023 21:54

I've researched the subject; there are even more forms of classical divination too, but the ones I do are enough.
I've never practiced geomancy; what do you use?
Here's a really good video by Chris Brennan who's written a book on the topic. I'm not knowledgeable yet to explain Hellenistic astrology properly

What is Hellenistic Astrology?

Hellenistic astrology is essentially the original tradition of western astrology, and it was practiced in the Mediterranean region from approximately the 1st...

I tend to use just a pen and paper tge initial 16 marks are generally just automatic writing, although sometimes use a dice. I’d love to get some geomancy dice but yet to find them. I find it really accurate.

thanks for the videos I’ll take a look.
