Any other TLM lovers on here?
So sad to think it could disappear altogether.
Thankfully our parish still has one per month.

Hi, I hope it continues for you as a link with history and tradition. I'm not Roman Catholic, but my love is the spoken 1662 Communion, for similar reasons.

I also love 1662 BCP as well. Have been to a few Tridantine masses but not a huge fan. Mainly due to the
People who go to them. My friend will say it, and the TLM bunch love him for it. But he really isn't a fan, and will only do it if there is pastoral need.

@CrazyCatLady42 has your parish been allowed to carry on with it after the recent rescript. I was amazed to discover that my friends diocese only had two priests that said it.

I love it as we had two elderly priests , who were brothers, when I was a child for whom Vatican 2 had never happened . Every mass was Tridentine .

interestingly a couple of months ago we had a monk take Mass whilst our parish priest was on holiday. Out of the blue he sang "Credo in unum Deum" and a surprising number of us sang the rest. He said afterwards it was an experiment to see who remembers!

one of the local churches has a Sunday Mass in Latin and it attracts a multinational attendance as we have many Poles, Africans , Indians etc and it unites us all.

Hi Toddlerteaplease...ish! Proceeding until apprehended as we had permission previously 🤫

I was very surprised at the speed the rescript enforced by my friend. But it was due to it only applying to two priests who were ok about it.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/03/2023 18:55

I don't think there is as much call for it as they like to think.

Out TLM is packed every month. People travel from quite far away, and loads of young families. I'll be really sad if it has to go :(

The FSSP and IKSP are not affected. Though they are a bit few and far between.

Does anyone know of one I could go to in Greater London area?

Lollygaggle · 10/04/2023 14:33

This is a list of Latin masses. Don't worry if it asks you to do a capture before the page opens

I have no Latin 😐 and whilst a Latin Mass is a wonderful experience it concerns me that many of the congregation do not fully understand the prayers and responses etc ☘️🙏🏽🕊

Abhannmor · 28/05/2023 07:17

I went to a sung Latin Mass once. Half the congregation seemed to be goths and old hippies. It was conducted by a group of monks. There was no communion as it was held in a Methodist hall.

That's why I'm not a fan of it. Because very few people can fully understand it. Plus some if the very traddy are some of the most arrogant and not nice people I've ever met!

CurlewKate · 28/05/2023 18:47

I think it's amazing and I love to listen if I happen to be anywhere near one.

But I do understand the Latin. And I am an atheist.
