Going to see a psychic medium for 1st time - couple of questions

Ok, so later this week I'm going to see a psychic medium for the first time. A locally-recommended one who gets some really impressive reviews on social media and also through people I know personally.
It will be a 1-2-1 reading and I'm not planning to take anybody with me, just feeling a little nervous about what to expect!
Does a psychic medium tell you simply any messages from deceased loved ones, or do they tell you about things that can be seen in your future? Or a mixture of both?
I have a couple of complicated things happening in my personal life at the moment, are these likely to be picked up upon?
Also, in terms of "cold reading" - how do I make myself less "readable"? Would it be worth maybe wearing fake wedding ring or dressing different to normal?
Any advise from those who have been to a psychic medium would be great :) thanks!

Honestly, I think if you are going to go to a con artist hoping for reassurance then it's likely you are vulnerable to cold reading techniques, whether you do that or not.

I think if you really want this and can comfortably afford it then tell them the truth and let them tell you what you want to hear.

The better option would be to confide your worries in friends and meet your problems head on.

Look up hot reading as well. If you google yourself, how much info is out there? Is your social media ie FB open to everyone ie job changes, births, deaths and marriages etc

You clearly don't trust that the reading will be genuine (you are rightly cynical in my opinion) - think about this - if you have to throw them 'off the scent' deliberately, how can you believe the reading will be genuine?

All mediums/psychics are cold reading, please don't waste your time and money

I was going to point this out but, honestly, what's the point?

If OP is clever about it, locks down SM, doesn't fall for the generic hooks and gives deliberate red herrings then all she will get is a deeply unsatisfactory experience which will leave her lower than before.

Someone feeling resilient enough to do that won't go in the first place.

If they are the real deal, I'm surprised the security services haven't already recruited them,

Hustle TV series is a good research perspective.

Overall dress like Colombo or similar too

Hawkins003 · 05/03/2023 20:49

But If they have your name they may have already researched you on social media etc

It didn't turn out too well for Saul!

Thanks for the replies. Just to confirm, I'm not on social media and nothing comes up about me on google. Also, I have a very common surname.

The thing to do is not to feed them any information, so if they ask you a question eg. "Do you know a John?" Then answer that you don't know.
Also look for definite answers, so not a generic your grandmother is in spirit type,.they should be able to give physical descriptions of anybody they are communicating with, as well as information that only you would know.
Above all don't part with loads of money, I personally feel it is immoral to charge the sums they do from vulnerable people.

We once rented to a couple who it turned out had a failed normal business and then set themselves up as psychics.
I was astonished by the amount of money they made by suddenly being able to tell people about themselves over 100k.
It absolutely was a business and an exploitative one at that.

Hi susie31v, Did you manage to see the psychic Medium?
I wanted to see for myself too. Any suggestion?
