Silly question but

We had my dad’s funeral this week and it all
went by in such a blur that I was thinking I’d quite like to ask the vicar if he would mind sending me a copy of his sermon so that I can read it again - I think I would find it a comfort. There were some lovely words in there but I can’t remember all the details.

BUT I don’t want to be disrespectful - can anyone tell me if it would be a reasonable thing to ask him? Thank you x

Yes that’s completely fine. I’m sorry for your loss.

The vicar would be most happy to oblige. May your father rest in peace.

I’m sorry for your loss. Absolutely fine to ask.

More than reasonable – the vicar will be pleased that somebody found the sermon thoughtful and moving.

Few people ever ask for copies of sermons, so your request will be valued (from personal experience 😊)

Very sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Totally reasonable request.

He'll be really pleased that it meant so much to you. The vicar at my Aunt's funeral last week, preached a really good sermon. I made sure I told him it was really good.

I think he will be really happy about it.
