Do you let your children read his books?
They seem to be very anti Christian with adult themes.

Yes, what is it? But something gives all us mums the creeps

DickDarstedly · 02/10/2022 23:55

It certainly does make you wonder.

I have found my people. David Walliams gives me tha absolute creeps. I have to turn the TV off if he's on. Something about him is just nails down a blackboard to me. Dd was given one of his books as a present and we both hated it equally. I've heard rumours that his books are ghost written but I don't believe them as the books are exactly the books I'd imagine DW writing.

DD2 got given one for a birthday present years ago, read a couple of chapters and went 'Hell, no'. I had a read through - they're just bad. There are so many better writers around, adult themes or not. My kids grew up on Diana Wynne Jones, Terry Pratchett, Robert Westall, Philip Pullman and many more. Once they got past the (vom) Rainbow Fairies stage, that is.
