Indian guru - pendant

Hi all

Mum and I had a slightly awkward moment with one of her neighbours yesterday

The lady was wearing a pendant which looked like it had a picture of an elderly guru type man on it. Mum asked what it was and the neighbour seemed quite surprised/offended that we didn't know what it was. She then said the name very quickly, as if it would be obvious by that. So neither of us caught the name.

I googled and found Sai Baba as a possible match.

I never ask about this stuff but mum tells me the lady is a very vocal atheist, so it might be a historic symbol rather than a religious one, I don't know.

But generally, I was wondering if there are any other things it could be, if we are missing something very obvious among Indian religions?

Thanks.

The only pics of Sai Baba I've seen show him as a middle aged man with a large Afro hairstyle.

I think a lot of atheists view Eastern religions as not having a deity , being just codes of ethics etc ? TM people sort of emphasise the health and personal growth side and are at pains to say you don't have to be religious.

Could it be Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ?
