Can anyone tell me what happens in a RECREUM MASS (excuse spelling)

My Nan passed away last week and despite myself not having any religion my nan was very much an Irish Catholic and requested she had the above at her funeral.

Could anyone tell me what happens at one as I have been asked to read a paragraph from the Bible.

A requiem mass? I think it's a specific service for Catholics.
