What is witchcraft and where can I learn more?

I realise witchcraft isn't what it is in the movies. A few years ago I left a high demand religion and I know consider myself atheist/agnostic. However, having realise how wrong I was about religion, I am really open to learning things I never felt I could explore before.

I am not saying it's something I want to become necessary, I'm just interested in understanding. I like the idea of nature and Mother Nature.

I have looked at books etc but am I right in thinking witchcraft is more a label like Christian and there are different aspects/areas of it?

I'm just interested in learning and understanding. Hope that's ok? Thanks

Witchcraft is a huge umbrella - from spiritual worship (I never dug into that), using the power of crystals/Mother Earth to cast ‘spells’ (can’t really think on the right term, to getting back in touch with herbal remedies.

I got curious around it a few years ago (the history is fascinating) and there’s quite a lot of YouTubers who share their practices/vlog/beliefs/workshops. There’s different sects of ‘witches’ and I think there’s a board/posts on here.

Spiritually I stayed away from casting spells/religion but focused on natural remedies/foraging/Mother Nature. All those poor woman who were drowned/tortured/burnt at the stake for essentially studying/developing nutrition/early medicine.

I’m never going to turn away current medical treatment but a ginger/honey/cinnamon hot drink to help a sore throat or using actual food for vitamin sources is more my style.

youtube.com/c/TheGreenWitch if you fancy watching a playlist of aesthetically pleasing videos - used to have videos on while tidying/organising as I found them calming.

That's brilliant! Thank you.

How you perceive/practice, is the kind of things that interest me. I use honey, ginger and lemon when ill too and It works far better than traditional cold care remedies, but it doesn't dismiss modern medicine too.

I'm pretty skeptical about certain aspects but I think there is a lot of things like remedies etc which have been forgotten by the modern world but equally as just as powerful as some other things.

Thanks so much, I'll check out that playlist! 😀
