Here we are again. A new year, a new thread.

A safe place to pause, breathe and count our blessings, great and small. Everyone is welcome, of any faith or no faith, as we journey together looking at the bright side of life.

Birds all over the feeders and singing in the trees.
A good chat with DS3 about his plans.
Worship music

Being within touching distance of a great tit and him not bothering his shirttail
DD UTI clearing up nicely.
Line dried washing and clean sheets

Visited my dad yesterday.
Saw my brother for the first time in ages
Watching the wee birds queue up to use the feeders 🐦

Vets.
slight improvement in bunny.
dd recovering from covid

DD much better.
Ds4's antibiotics for his tonsillitis starting to work.
Bunny back to normal

A new day.
A quiet house.
Too many blessings to count

I have so much to be grateful for

Lack of money worries at this time
An eye operation that went well
Excellent bus service whilst my car is out of action
My wonderful child
A friendship that has lasted more than 45 years

Ds4 accepted onto the next level of his college course

My dad's covid scare can't to nothing. He has leukaemia and chronic kidney disease and his consultant has told him that Covid would almost certainly be fatal
Shelter from the rain.
Another day in this beautiful world.

Kids stepping up during this diabolical flair.
Good friends.
Some almost summer weather here on the unsunny west coast of Scotland ☀️

My food bank is ready to reopen and I have volunteers.

Hi lessstressedhemum and all.

I have been absent from this thread this year but have been journalling my daily gratitude practice which has been wonderful, but I had forgotten how lovely it is to share and to hear what others are grateful for.

So, today...
A quiet day at home after a busy but wonderful weekend of training.
A washing out. (At least for a little while- the sky is turning an amazing array of greys and clouds)
A walk (and a play) in the woods outside my house.

Tech allowing me to stay in contact with a friend who is on an extended trip to the other side of the world.
My meditation and yoga practice.

My faith.
My job.
The teachings from trusted teachers.

A book.
My husband and the flowers he bought me displayed.
My lovely sons at home.
My gorgeous adult daughters and my grandchild.

Contact with friends who have a similar faith and practice to me.
Support and friendship on mumsnet.

Coffee.
A crisp sweet apple.
Water.
Warm clothes and boots.

The fact that all if this actively happening today. And it's only 12.30.
How grateful I am.

I hope to come on more often. It really is a beautiful daily thread.

Today's gratitude..

Dh putting up new shelves.
A family trip out to an amazing fireworks display. Ds19 loved it. And so nice to see DS11 just in pure kid like joy.

Grateful for us all getting on so well. Home to watch our favourite programme together.

A chance to wear my favourite wooly hat. I admired it on my friend once, her Granny had knitted it for her. Next time I saw her she gave me it, said I suited it more. I love that hat. And my friend.

What a wonderful friend, Breath.

Church yesterday
Kids got to uni/college with no major problems despite bus/train chaos
Only woke up once last night
A slow start to the day

Yesterday
Some time in the house to myself.
Time to cook on my new stove.

DS11 thanking me unprompted for tidying his room when he was at school.

A friend who shared a beautiful poem.
A phone call with my step dad.

Today
Waking up to a tidy house.
Dh doing the school run.

Shelter from the rain. The number of homeless people here is rising and it really worries me how they will survive the winter.
A warm, comfy bed to sleep in.
Hot food and tea.
My kindle. It's my most prized possession.
Ds4 is thriving at college and has made friends for the first time in his life.

Yay for your Ds.

Today...

A dry few hours to get a washing out and a walk in the woods.

A successful shopping trip to get ds11 new winter boots and trainers.
(And grateful to have the funds to do that)

My friend home safely from an extended trip abroad.
A warm and nourishing lunch and dinner.

Hot water bottles (and my lovely ds19 who makes me one every evening).
My warm bed.

Freedom,
Music,
Chocolate

The teachings of my faith, primarily the teaching of compassion.

Busy foodbank and welfare rights session (am conflicted on this one)
A snuggly oodie
