I was WorkingClassScum!

Well my son and I were baptised this past weekend and it was just wonderful. I am still walking round on a cloud! I feel so full inside. I didn't think it would feel so different as I was committed anyway, but it does.

How lovely

Congratulations

What made you decide to go for it?

DutchOma · 12/12/2007 17:14

Praise the Lord. We had two baptisms at church in the weekend, hope the people baptised feel as you do.

Moondog - well it's a long story Don't really know how to condense it. But in the end I wanted to committ myself to the Christian faith and all the good it stood and stands for as well as my personal belief in God and in Jesus as the Son of God.

It's not been an easy road as I've wanted to believe for so long, but have also been easily persuaded by pervasive anti-Christian sentiment in society, which for a long time I never even realised was there. For instance, I spent a while as a Buddhist at one point and talked loads about it to people and how it had changed my life for the good and everyone was interested and open-minded. But if I do that with Christianity apparently I'm "preaching".

Anyway, I was worrying the whole week before that I wasn't ready for it, didn't believe enough, didn't know enough, wasn't worthy enough. But it really was like a birth and no-one expects babies to know everything!

Very true that, about other religions being seen as cool but Christianity being seen as preachy.
What an appropriate time to really understand the message of Jesus eh?

Congratulations to you and your DS.

Congratulations to you both

Wow! Fantastic!

I was baptised in March this year - I'd been a CHristian for 20 years, but had taken that long to get round to it (spent a lot of time in denominations that were infant baptisers). It was amazing an even now when I think abotu it I get all gooey and warm inside - I felt like I had the most amazing air sole trainers on for about a month! I'm so happy to hear that you are so happy!

true though that peopole would listen to a buddhist, or a pagan, or whatever all day adn just be interested, but it is almost always seen as 'preaching' if you try to share your CHristian faith. I try just to live it as much as I can.

Fantastic news

I know that floaty feeling as that's just how I felt when I was received into the church last year

A lady I'm training with used to be a buddhist as well, it was totally amazing listening to her testimony about how she became a Christian.
