Finding clarity

When there are numerous pressures in life plus your own overthinking and emotions added in, how do you find clarity?

Nature.

Your own or spending time inside FindingMeno?

Spending time outside alone and realising how tiny tiny I am in the grand scheme.

glimpsing · 02/11/2021 15:40

I've got to say I love spending time outside too. And inside, alone somewhere quiet like the bath. Helps me 'switch off' so to speak, the mental chatter.

Although I don't find myself tiny, so to speak. I think I've potential to change things, even if what I do is small the knock on effects could be significant.

I spend time alone, whether outside or inside. I find staying inside while looking out onto the horizon serves me better than being fully outside. So a balcony/terrace or looking out the window.

I try to listen to myself, the voice within me and hear what I'm saying or what I need. I've learned to separate my mind/mental chatter from my heart/core.

glimpsing · 03/11/2021 08:01

@LearningMyLesson, yes, alone time does seem to be important. The quiet of it and lack of distraction or threat of distraction. I wonder how people manage when there is not much alone time available? I sometimes seem to be hungry for time alone although I have quite a bit of it but I do enjoy people's company too. It's good too for clarity when people are happy to share space but be quiet.

I find clarity when I spend time with God. By praying or speaking things through with him. He provides divine wisdom and revelation unlike anything and anyone else. He’s the author of life, so I leave Jesus’ presence totally refreshed.

lazylinguist · 08/11/2021 16:24

By using a journal. I don't use mine for writing down feelings and stuff (though some people find that very useful). Mine is purely practical - I find that getting my big jumble of organisational things, ideas, commitments, work stuff etc out of my head and onto paper is incredibly liberating and frees up my mind to think clearly about other things.

glimpsing · 09/11/2021 10:50

Thanks @HmmGrey & @lazylinguist. Yes, prayer, reflection and being able to offload day to day organisational stuff I can understand as being very helpful in finding clarity.Smile

Hey glimpsing, good to see you again! 😁

Well, yes and no. I’m full time looking after a new baby and toddler so my days involve much dashing about to keep all the plates a’spinning! But God is my rock of peace, he keeps me level amidst all the storms and madness 🙂

glimpsing · 16/11/2021 14:19

Hope all goes well with the new baby and toddler! Congratulations! Grin
