Theologians use an X for "Christ" (when making notes etc) - well all my lecturers did and I did when I was teaching RS so Xmas is a perfectly good abbreviation

nope, sorry, even though most people are not using the word as a term of theological respect, it still doesn't really bother me. Apart from the cheapo-shop-space-saving element to it, and that's just a taste issue.
