All faiths and none: for the women and girls of Afghanistan

I'm more of a lurker on Mumsnet than anything else.

I am feeling rage and sadness at what is happening in Afghanistan and at the same time powerless to do anything about it. So - whether you have a faith or not - I invite you to join me in holding these women and girls in your thoughts as you meet your god, and go about your day.

Some may find this in bad taste- given that religion plays a key part in this situation.
A local radio host had to make a public apology after suggesting the same thing.

I feel the same OP and have kept them in my prayers. The scenes coming in are devastating especially those clinging to the plane about to take off. I feel so helpless

I agree with @speakout. This is in very poor taste.

Also. If you have no faith (as I do) you won’t be keeping them in your thoughts as you meet your god and go about your day.

But I’m keeping them in my thoughts.

Poorly thought out.

Not sure what good that will do.

It's not in poor taste at all. What an utterly ludicrous thing to say.
