I feel like I need something spirtual to lean on.

Have had some really horrid stuff happen to me over the past 2 years or so, I just think things can't get any worse and they do.

I've tried doing random acts of kindness etc hoping that kalma will kick in but in doesn't. Can't help thinking that I must be a really bad person to deserve my lot.

Am not religious at all and if I was I think I'd just be angry with a higher being/god. I would like to think of someone/thing looking after me though ie angels or spirts and today brought some angel cards. Has anyone found that angels can provide support? I've asked for their help but again nothing am I clutching at nothing?

Seriously out of character for me but I just need something

I'm a CHristian, so what I might say is pretty predictable.

I'd say - talk to God. Tell Him how you feel, what you are angry about. He's listening. You don't need angels or anyone else to talk to - you can talk to God. What would be the point of Angels (who I am sure are there) if there wasn't a God?

Take care

Oh my this post made me so sad .

It's interesting that you say you are not religious, and that if you were you would be angry with God. Would you feel that God (if you believed) would have been responsible for what you have suffered? God can see everything we are suffering, I think He must be seeing a strength in you as you are feeling drawn to something, I believe it is God's holy spirit drawing you close (sorry if I sound mad here!!). As an illustration this is what Jesus said:

John 6:44 "44 No man can come to me unless the Father, who sent me, draws him; and I will resurrect him in the last day"

Sorry for quoting scripture at you but I find that the Bible has stuff in it that can say things better than me lol!!

I agree with harrisey. Pray from the depths of your heart for help and you will get it. Even if you don't believe, you might get some comfort from the act of praying itself.

If you like you can email me (tracyc73 AT hotmail DOT com), I know you don't know me or anything but I felt so sad and it's horrible that you feel this way (this is just an invitation to you, please don't feel pressured to take me up on it!!). Maybe I can just be a pair of ears for you .

Please take care of yourself (and I'm so very sorry if I've come across as a rambling idiot, I do that all the time ).

"am I clutching at nothing?" As an atheist I will say 'yes'. Give yourself some more time and things will start picking up. You'd feel even more downhearted if your new-found support, of whatever faith, won't turn up as quickly as you think. And of course you're not a bad person to deserve your lot. Bad things happen over which we have no control. Others we could have done better with hindsight. Don't be too hard on yourself. Good luck - we all need it.

Take a look in the mind/body/spirit or religion section of a bookshop. Some reading might help. Good luck.

I give up actually, angel cards pretty but not much else. Even tried praying/asking something for help but my rabbit got mxymatosis and had to be put down ans we're waiting for the other one to get it (almost a sure thing.

I know is just a rabbit but it feels like a real kick in the face. I ask for help and I get 2 finger stuck back up at me

just one thing after another

Myxomatosis is not infectious, the other rabbit might not get it.

I think you need to approach any belief w/o the expectation of getting something in return for prayers. Everyone would be a believer if it worked like that.

Good luck - it will eventually find you too.

Hi, I am a muslim and I don't think that things happen in life without a reason. I have belief that after every hardship comes ease, twice. By that I mean that for everything difficult that happens in life, God gives me two good things after that.
This helps me alot, and saves me from entering the abyss of depresion, especially when nothing seems to be going right.
It is not always easy to understand, but with practice it gets better, and helps you to keep a slightly optimistic view of life, where you start looking for the good stuff, no matter how small.
I think you sound quite depressed, and it will most definately help you to talk to God about how you are feeling. I do this all the time, and I think it helps to keep my head above water iykwim.
I could talk about this loads more, but I have to go now. You can email me at [email protected].
Take care.

Babalon, please please please don't let anybody here convince you that bad things happen to you for any supernatural reason. You are not "doomed" in any way and don't wait for good karma. Look around you, there is enough misery in this world to convince us that Gods are not always mercifull.

You may have done bad deeds that have had direct repercussions or simply tough luck. Either way, God gave you a powerfull tool: reason.
Sit back and work on eliminating negative thoughts/ people/situations from your life.
Look for the good stuff as said above. Rejoice in everyday simple "miracles" (the sun is shining/a thoughtfull persons offers a seat on the bus/somebody smiles/you read a good book). See the glass half full and count your blessings.
Walk in a park and breath deeply, talk to elderly people and children. Marvel at how nature works.
Just look around you, surely that can't be void of joy and meaning?

I do not practice any religion but a believe in kindness and sharing and being supportive.
In the last few years, I have developped a zero tolerance for negative people and simply cut out abusive and/or hypocrit relationships with friends/family members.
This has helped a lot. I'm much happier.
And much more willing to thank God rather than be angry that he let me down.

Take care
