I've had some bad news about a lovely friend who has cancer. She is only in her 40s, two young children.
I'm not overly religious, but sometimes there's just nothing else one can do.
May she have strength and be pain free. May her husband and children be at peace. May their little family be ok. May her love for them be real forever.

God be with your friend and you too, draw near to you both and bring you comfort. Fill the family with “peace that is beyond understanding”, and strength for the trials ahead. And bless and comfort the children. In the confusion, questions and pain may you be their rock, and their love for each other hold strong. Let your spirit rest on them now, and in the times ahead. Amen

God, this life is so unfair. You know that. When we have no words, when the pain overwhelmed, when it all gets too much for everyone, be there and bring them comfort.

When the family are crying and grieving, be there and bring them comfort.

When they have to pick up the pieces of their lives and continue living with a hole in their family, be there and bring them comfort.

When friends and family can meet again, but one special person is sorely missed, be there and bring them comfort.
